About
I'm Klaas Heimans, a Dutch judoka and elite athlete, born in 2010. Judo has been at the centre of my life since I was four years old. What started as play in Heemstede has grown into a serious elite sporting career with national and international successes.
I train at Topjudo Kenamju, a club known for its drive, where fun and hard training go hand in hand. Topjudo Kenamju has already taken several judoka to the top. My big dream is to become world champion in judo and to perform at the highest international level.

Heading for the World Championship in Ecuador also means training hard during the holidays. We were welcome to train at Judo Club Stara Varoš (Podgorica) and Judo Club Ippon (Nikšić). Extra special: a session led by top coach and Olympian Srđan Mrvaljević. Hvala! 🇲🇪💪🇳🇱

The local newspaper covered the World Championship selection. Heemstede – 16-year-old judoka Klaas Heimans from Heemstede competed in June at the European U18 Championship in Gran Canaria, as one of six Dutch judoka selected by the judo federation. The selection for the World U18 Championship in Ecuador followed soon after.

After his 5th place at the European Championship, Klaas has climbed to 13th in the world as a cadet in the -50 kg class. 🌍

Straight after the European Championship in Gran Canaria we travelled on to Sindelfingen (Stuttgart) to cheer on my judo friends. To close out the last judo weekend before the summer holidays, I did a training camp of my own.

Klaas got the call that he will represent the Netherlands at the World Cadet Championship in Ecuador. Right after the summer holidays it's straight into training camps towards 20 August. 🥋
